And the social workers will have you to seek a refuge. If you can, do your best to prepare by taking your important documents with you such as your birth certificate and anything else you might need. Your dog can most likely be picked up by an animal rescue team. In most countries, they specialise in helping dogs from situations like this until the owner has stable accommodation.
