Seeking relocation advice for family of 3 (safe, progressive midsize town)?

I have told people for decades that Jacksonville, Florida is america's best kept secret. Prices are reasonable because it is not considered a tourist area. You have Saint Augustine about an hour away down Highway A1A. Orlando Disney World is 130 miles away down south. Jacksonville Beaches are absolutely gorgeous.
